Azar Glass Industry

Azar Glass industrial Company is one of the largest established industrial projects in East Azerbaijan after Islamic revolution. The operation of Azar Glass Company has started since 2005 with the nominal capacity of 350 tons per day and now this plant is the first and only factory which has ISO 9001-2000 certificate in producing float glass in Iran.
At the time being, products of Azar Glass Industrial Company are used in car glass manufacturing, mirrors and also in buildings.
Produced glasses of Azar Glass Industrial Company are one of the greatest post-revolutionary industrial projects in East Azerbaijan. Azar Glass factory was operationalized in the year 2005 as the first float glass producer in Tabriz at a land with total area of 14 hectares along with a set of production units, glass storehouses, offices, services, repairing units and power plant with numerical daily production capacity of 350 metric tons. The company has also achieved ISO 9001-2000 quality certificates for its products. Azar Glass Industrial Company products are currently used in manufacturing car glass; mirror and they are also used in buildings. The glasses produced by the company (thickness 3 to 12 mm) are provided in different dimensions and based on the customers’ needs. The company is capable of producing colored and reflex glasses.
Increasing demand for glass consumption was the initial inspiration for the mangers in establishing this production unit. Employing modern technology and experienced human resource, Azar Glass Industrial Company has guaranteed its market in the European countries, Russia, Turkey, Central Asia, Iraq and Afghanistan through producing products based on the international standards at the shortest period of time. About 40% of the products of the unit are processed in Ark Safety Company and Sahand Mirror Company, the rest of the products are mostly exported and small part of the products are sold in the local market. Paying attention to the customer’s demands and needs along with the focus on the product quality and variety and moving toward comprehensive quality management are among the most important goals of the company.

Quality Control during the Production Process
The main factor in quality control during production process: The production process of float glass involves different operational and interrelated parts such as power supply, drainage, transportation, raw material; fuel, materials and compressed air, therefore the production cycle will be influenced when it lacks just one of these factors. To be ensured of higher quality, the products should be produced under completely steady conditions. In other words, all interrelated and necessary parameters in the production capacity are considered main parameters for quality control of the products. Steady melting, steady raw material inside the furnace, and steady combustion and temperature degree of the furnace. Product Quality Inspection: It is necessary to define types of different defects, their dimensions, number and density in order to meet the customer’s needs. It is also necessary to determine final quality standard of the glass. There are different national standards for the float glass quality in different countries. For example: Japanese International Standard (JIS), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Russian Standard (ROCT), French Standard (NFB), Chinese Standard (GB 11614-89) for Float glass quality inspection can take place either in the production line or independent of production process. Azar float glass is produced under Japanese JIS standard. In-line Production Inspection: The items, which are inspected in the production line, are thickness, stress, wave, final product inspection, surface defects, etc. In-line inspections are manual, automatic and semi-automatic.

Inspection Room

For manual inspection of the glasses, the light is usually shed in top-down way. A white plate is placed beneath the glass sheet. The inspector checks the glasses and marks observable defects with a chuck.

Automatic in-line Inspection

This type of inspection is carried out by a laser scanner, image processing and signal transfer throughout the glass width. The inspection takes place for the defects in the glass in formation parts and for defects such as bulb, sand, stone, sticking tin to the glass, light refraction, etc.
ADG-90 automatic inspection system designed in China can inspect defects with minimum dimension of 0.2 mm×0.2 mm. The inspection reliability reaches to 100% for the defects larger than 0.5 mm and such reliability is 90% for the sizes 0.3-0.5 mm.


Improving the products quality in accordance with the modern technology and successful presence at the local and foreign markets with efforts of the managers and all deserved personnel of the company are future prospects of the factory.
According to customer requirements, the company has ability to produce reflex and colored glasses. Increasing customer request to use of these glasses has been the basic cause of directors to establish this unit.
Azar Glass Industrial Company in a short time gained huge market for its products in European countries, Russia, Turkey, Central Asia, Iraq, and Afghanistan with using its worldwide modern technology and specialist human power with products that conform to international standards. About 40% of products of this Company are processed in Ark Safety Company and Sahand Mirror Company, remaining products mainly are exported and only small amount is supplied to the domestic markets.

Full description of the production method: Production of flat glass by float method; in such a way that the produced melt from raw materials by the furnace with temperature about 1530°C is guided on melt tin and after forming is cut and removed.
